THE EFFECT OF AGE ON WOUND HEALING AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL CATS (Felis catus) POST-OVARIOHYSTERECTOMY SURGERY

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect age on wound healing and physical development local cats (Felis catus) after ovariohysterectomy. A total 15 female were divided into three groups (2-4, 5-9, 10 months old) with each group consisting five cats. treatment sterilized using lateral flank ovariohysterectomy method. Observations surgical procedures conditions carried out during anesthesia, including onset, duration anesthesia surgery, body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate. Post-operative observations made healing, hematological profile (RBC, Hb, PCV, WBC, PLT), weight, Body Condition Score (BCS), bone density, growth plate closure. results showed that there no significant difference (P0.05) or an increase in BCS, density all groups. Ovariohysterectomy at 2-4 old delayed closure plates (P0.05). pubertal post-pubertal is safe perform as long good preparation provided.
